Hello. It’s been a long time since I have been on here. But a friend of mine has a 2018 Toyota 4Runner and is wanting to lift it. He asked me what suspensions would be good for less than 1500 bucks. Originally I suggested King suspension but the front lift is $2000 alone. Any suggestions?

Is that $1500 in parts, or installed? IMO, you’re going to be hard pressed for a quality product at that pricepoint either way - IFS requires a bit more parts and pieces.

1500 in parts? hmm OME is kind of the gold standard for basic lifts. If it were me, I would buy OME coils and find some other shocks. ICON or FOX maybe

I’ll look into OME. My brother has OME on his 4th gen but not shocks so it’s a bouncy mf

Their shocks are okay, but they are crazy stiff in my opinion. I’ve liked my ICON VS2.0 but even they are a little stiff for my taste. I really liked the ride of my adjustable TJM but they were kinda crap for quality.

I’m thinking if I get OME and maybe some king or bilstein shocks it’ll smooth the ride out well... bc OME by itself is stiff af. I might also look at the same shocks with either skyjacker or rough country kits

Check out the forums, someone should have spring rates and free spring height data for the lift kits. What you are looking for is spring heights that meet your lift needs with rates that work with your load. A lot of these kits factor in weight a lot of people don’t end up adding (bumpers, armor, winches) and it just makes the ride punishing.
